Quick answers
01What is the best social media MCP server?
There is no single best one, because they do four different jobs. If you want the AI to publish for you, use Postiz, Buffer or Typefully. If you want it to report your numbers, use Supermetrics, Windsor.ai or Porter Metrics. If you want it to research other creators, use Bright Data or Apify. If you want it to know your own back catalogue — posts, transcripts, comments, audience — that is what Mysocial does.
02What is a social media MCP server?
An MCP (Model Context Protocol) server is a bridge that gives an AI assistant like Claude or ChatGPT a set of tools it can call. A social media MCP server connects your accounts so the assistant can act on them — either by posting, by pulling metrics, or by reading what you have already published.
03Can ChatGPT read my YouTube analytics?
Yes, through a connector. Supermetrics, Windsor.ai and Porter Metrics all expose YouTube Analytics to ChatGPT and Claude. Note what they return: views, watch time, impressions and CTR — the numbers, not your video transcripts or your comments.
04Which MCP servers read my posts instead of posting for me?
Most social MCP servers are publishers. The read-first ones split into scrapers that fetch anyone public content (Bright Data, Apify, Xpoz), analytics connectors that return your metrics (Supermetrics, Windsor.ai, Porter Metrics), and memory servers that give the assistant your own posts, transcripts and comments (Mysocial).
05Are there free social media MCP servers?
Some. Postiz is free if you self-host it. Buffer, Metricool and Typefully include MCP access on their free plans. Mysocial works on every plan including Free. Ayrshare has no free tier — its entry plan is $149 a month, with a 28-day trial, as listed on its pricing page in September 2026.

Every “best social media MCP servers” list has the same problem: it is written by one of the vendors, and that vendor is number one.

We are a vendor too. Mysocial is on this list, and you should read the rest of this page knowing that. What follows is the comparison we wanted when we were working out where we actually fit — including three places where you should pick somebody else.

## ”Best” is the wrong question

An MCP server hands your AI assistant a set of tools it can call. Which server is right depends entirely on what you want the assistant to *do* with your social accounts — and there are four genuinely different answers.

Almost every roundup blurs them together, which is why the lists disagree so much. They are not ranking the same thing.

Note

The one question that decides it

Do you want the AI to **publish** for you, **report** your numbers, **research** other people, or **remember** your own work? Pick the job first. The tool follows.

## Job 1: Publish and schedule for you

This is the biggest group by far. You write or approve something, the assistant pushes it to your channels.

**Postiz** is open-source and free if you self-host it, which makes it the honest default for anyone technical who just wants scheduling. **Buffer** and **Typefully** include MCP access on their existing plans, so if you already pay for either, you already have this. **Ayrshare** is the developer-facing option — it is an API product first, with no free tier and an entry plan at $149 a month for one social profile, plus a 28-day trial (its pricing page, September 2026).

**Composio** and **Zapier** belong here too, in a broader way: they expose hundreds of apps including the social networks, so they are the right answer when posting is one step in a longer automation.

Key Takeaway

Pick one of these, not us

If your actual goal is “publish from my AI”, stop here. Mysocial does not post, schedule or publish, and it never will — see [Job 4](#job-4-give-the-assistant-your-own-body-of-work). A scheduler is the right tool and Postiz is free.

## Job 2: Report your numbers

This is the group that quietly wins the search results, and almost no list mentions it.

Ask an assistant “how do I connect my YouTube to ChatGPT” and the answers you get back are **Supermetrics**, **Windsor.ai**, **Porter Metrics** and **Adzviser**. They are marketing-data connectors: you authorise your account, and the assistant can then query your analytics in plain English.

They are good at that. But it is worth being precise about what arrives, because the phrase “connect your account” hides it. Supermetrics’ own YouTube-to-ChatGPT page lists what it exposes: views, watch time, subscribers gained and lost, likes, comments, shares, average view duration, impressions, impression CTR and revenue, sliced by video, traffic source, device and country.

That is your dashboard, in chat. It is not your videos. You cannot ask it what you actually said in the video that worked, because the transcript was never part of the deal — and “comments” there is a *count*, not the comments themselves.

Note

When these are the right answer

If you want spend, revenue, watch time and CTR — especially across ads as well as organic — a marketing-data connector is built for exactly that and Mysocial is not. Supermetrics offers a 14-day free trial; it does not publish pricing without a signup.

## Job 3: Research other people’s content

**Bright Data**, **Apify** and **Xpoz** point the assistant at public content that isn’t yours: competitors, a niche, a trend. They are scraper infrastructure, priced by usage, and they are the correct choice for market research at volume.

The tradeoff is that they return raw public data with no relationship to your account. There is no “my audience” in a scraper — only “this handle’s public posts”.

## Job 4: Give the assistant your own body of work

This is the job we built for, and the one the other three do not cover.

A creator who has posted for five years has an archive: what they said, which framing worked, which comment thread turned into a product, who actually watches. None of that lives in a scheduler, and a metrics connector reduces it to a number.

**Mysocial** is a Model Context Protocol server that hands Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code or any MCP client your posts, transcripts, comments, audience research and brand documents as tools it can call. One URL, OAuth sign-in, no API key. It works on every plan, including Free.

It reads. It does not post, schedule or publish on your behalf — a deliberate limit, not a roadmap gap. The point is that the assistant you already use stops guessing what you sound like.

**Eden** is the closest thing to a competitor here, and genuinely so: it combines research, publishing and your own analytics in one connection, with a free tier and paid plans from $29 a month (its own page, September 2026). If you want reading *and* publishing behind a single connection, Eden is a fair pick and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.

## The comparison

Prices move, so this table sticks to what each tool is *for*. We only quote a figure where we checked it on the vendor’s own page, and we say when.

| Server | The job | What the AI gets | Hosting |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Postiz | Publish | Scheduling across many networks | Self-host (free) or cloud |
| Buffer / Typefully | Publish | Scheduling, drafts, recent post stats | Hosted, on existing plans |
| Ayrshare | Publish | Posting API + basic analytics | Hosted, $149/mo entry |
| Composio / Zapier | Publish | Social posting inside wider automations | Hosted, free tiers |
| Supermetrics | Report | Views, watch time, CTR, revenue | Hosted, 14-day trial |
| Windsor.ai / Porter Metrics | Report | Organic and ad metrics | Hosted |
| Bright Data / Apify | Research | Anyone’s public posts and metrics | Hosted, usage-priced |
| Xpoz | Research | Indexed public corpus (X, IG, Reddit, TikTok) | Hosted |
| **Mysocial** | **Remember** | **Your posts, transcripts, comments, audience, brand** | **Hosted, free plan included** |

## How to choose in one question
     ✕
Avoid this

Assume a metrics connector can read your transcripts or comments

Pay for a posting API when Postiz self-hosted would do

Expect a scraper to know anything about your own audience

Trust a ranking where the author happens to be number one
      ✓
Do this

Decide the job first — publish, report, research or remember

Check whether 'connect your account' means content or just metrics

Use a free self-hosted scheduler if scheduling is all you need

Read any vendor list, including this one, knowing who wrote it

Most creators end up wanting two of the four: something that publishes, and something that remembers. Those are different products and it is fine to run both.

## What to Do Next

If Job 4 is the one you recognised — the assistant that knows what you have already made — connecting takes about a minute. The [Mysocial MCP setup page](/mcp/) has the URL and the per-assistant steps, and there are walkthroughs for [connecting TikTok to Claude](/connect/tiktok-to-claude/), [YouTube to ChatGPT](/connect/youtube-to-chatgpt/) and [Instagram to Claude](/connect/instagram-to-claude/).

If you recognised one of the other three, the tools named above are the right ones and we are not going to pretend we compete with them.

Your social memory, connected

## Give your AI your actual history

Connect once and Claude or ChatGPT can read your posts, transcripts, comments and audience — instead of guessing. Free plan included.
